English is not our native language. But because of our english speaking friends and all the people we met on the road we will try to translate. We do our best so please be patient. :)
From Iceland we continued to Edmonton - Alberta - Canada.
It was necessary to plan our roadtrip to the canadian westcoast.
There was a lot to plan:
Buying a car, insurance, bank account, Canadian sim card, and camping gear.
We have to admit that we have no idea how to buy a car in canada our even get an insurance policy.
Fortunately we were not on or own. We had a lifesaver and a great helper named WAYNE LAND.
The contact was made through Janas grandpa, who knows someone, who knows someone else... you know what we mean...
On the first morning, Wayne picked us up at our hotel.
In his trunk he had camping chairs, a cooling box and an umbrella as welcome gifts, unaware that we talked about EXACTLY those things this morning.
Wayne drove us to his car dealer of trust, where he already wrapped up a great deal for us.
Registration, payment, insurance policy, all with wayne´s help!
As if this wasn´t enough, he took us to the Chateau Lacombe Laronde, which is located on the 24th floor and is rotating around its own axis.
So we had an unique view at the Edmonton-Skyline and could enjoy a terrific meal.
We were honestly touched of his helpfulness and generosity.
We don´t know what we would have done without him.
We stayed at an unique and loving established house, which we found through airbnb(.com).
The first days could not have gone any better.
Okay, one small update:
On sunday we met Wayne again and his lovely wife Rose.
We went to church together and afterwards we hat lunch together.
And the result was that they invited us into their home to stay with them for as long as we want.
There are really no words to describe their helpfulness and hospitality.
Now we had more time to explore Edmonton and visit one of the biggest shopping malls in the world.
These dimensions were insane. From the parking lot, to the big wave pool, indoor rollercoaster, ice rink, a river and a whole ship.
All of this and more, under one roof. And don´t let us start about the over 800 stores.
But now it´s really time to set off, because 2000km are still ahead of us.
With a lot less money in our pockets, but two new friends in our hearts, we gonna head west to Vancouver island.
Because the next adventure is waiting...
... Oh, and Wayne... Did you ever thought about writing a book?? We definitely would buy a copy. ;)
God bless you and your family!! We hope to see you both again!
